Buddhist New Monastic Intentions
  • an active engagement with the three treasures of Buddhism--with a particular emphasis on building and supporting a sangha committed to engaged practice;
  •  to include all individuals, regardless of faith tradition or lack thereof, who live and work in all kinds of contexts, and not create a distinction between lay and ordained vocations;
  •  to have conduct regulated and disciplined by a small group of engaged practitioners committed to mutual respect, repentance, and reconciliation guided by a set of vows adapted from Buddhist monastic tradition;
  • practice will be founded on deep reflection and commitment to the dharma, while honoring each person's unique path.
What does One Point Mind mean?
ekāgratā is Sanskrit for "one-pointedness" or the state of being where the mind is unified with its object of focus. In one-pointedness the mind is tranquil and free from wandering or distraction.
